Oye, tu quieres comer?

Hey, you want to eat?

As a Culinary student I love food. And Eating. And pictures of food.

Oh, and cooking too.

This page shows pictures of food, recipes, things I make in class, chefs & bio's, and so many other things that pertain to the wonderful world of food.

Dig in!

These days you can find pretty much anything processed, prepared, packaged and waiting for you on a store shelf. But your wallet isn’t the only one paying the price for such convenience — the planet is too.

Making some monkey bread right now for my dad.

A little surprise for him after he gets out of surgery!

Benefit Print Sale

Hey. You know that saying, when it rains, it pours? Well, it’s been hailstorming right over my family this week. This afternoon my Dad fell two Stories off of scaffolding while working. He survived, thankfully, and also has no head trauma, was not knocked unconscious, or paralyzed. However, he did break his left hand, his foot, and possibly his left shoulder. He’ll be unable to work for 2 months. Thankfully he is covered by my mom’s insurance, but my mom has to take an extended period of time from work off to take care of him.  I’m also currently unemployed due to having just spent the past 3 months traveling for Outliers. We got hit pretty hard by the 2008 housing market crash. I’ve never seen my mom look as worried as she did at the hospital tonight.

So, this is what I can do.  I’ve got a whole bunch of Digital Chromogenic 8x10” artist proofs listed for $25.00 on my online web store, here: http://elleperez.bigcartel.com . Art makes really good holiday presents! Or looks good on your wall!

Any profit is going to go keeping our family afloat for the next few months.

Anything on my website is available by emailing me at elle.s.perez@gmail.com in any size.

Thanks y’all. I wish your family, biological or chosen, health and safety this season.

Elle

ps: I’m working a job in Baltimore this weekend, so print orders will start going out on Monday, December 5th.

I know this isn’t food guys, but please, reblog, spread it around, these prints will never be this inexpensive ever again. Elle is incredibly talented, and a little can go a long way this season.

Mountain Dew and Doritos cupcakes? Count me in.

Cake Turducken of the Day: Humorist Charles Phoenix’s time-honored contribution to the culinary arts — The Cherpumple (CHERry, PUMpkin, and apPLE pies stuffed inside a cake) — as interpreted by professional pastery chef David Lowery.
He says:

Working in the Grand Geneva Resort pastry kitchen, I had some time to make a Cherpumple and serve it at Sunday Brunch. My Cherpumple weighed 21 lbs 10 oz and was seen by over 200 guests that Sunday. I was very pleased that it stayed standing until the final 1/8 was cut 4 hours after the first slice was taken.
